The Ft. Lauderdale Sacred Circle
|
Every two weeks on Tuesday Evenings, meet other gay, lesbian (GLBT) and straight Universalists who love the healing, discussion and meditation aspects of the meetings, as well as the message of tolerance, hope, peace, love and joy. We have the "Good News" also--We are all Brothers and Sisters! We welcome all who share our interest in learning about, discussing, honoring, meditating on all the great spiritual teachings and traditions (Judeo-Christian, Buddhist, Native American, Hindu, Islamic, Goddess, Shamanic, Mystery School, and so on).

"I'm sure there are, but haven't heard of them discussed exactly that way. We joke that our center is like Hinduism: monotheistic, polytheistic, pantheistic, theistic and non theistic. We call them the Ascended Masters and all aspects of the One--Creatress/Creator. They sure feel real to us as we feel a close kinship and personal relationship with Kuan Yin, Isis, Freya, Mary, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Tara, Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, etc.). Anyway, look forward to meeting you when you can make it."
-
"We cant' wait either. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday the 13th. Tom and Dan "

"Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity as I am a pretty recent resident of S Fla, is there much of an organized purely theistic (believing that Gods and Goddesses are real and distinct beings and living within the thews of their pantheons and lore- rather than viewing them as archetypal entities) Heathen or Pagan community in the area aside from UU? If so, I'd love contact info or ways to find them. "

"Great question. During Sacred Circles we don't really do rituals usually. It is very straightforward. Prayers and blessings for healing for selves, loved ones and the planet. Then a presentation/discussion of a Universalist topic (from Buddhism to Native American to Sufi to Wiccan)--you name it. Then, we do a meditation based upon the topic. We are very respectful of all of the traditions. Lastly, we do some ritual work in other activities, like the Lakota Sweat Lodge, but not in Sacred Circle."
-
"Hey Tom, quick question. I don't work with or participate in ritual with Gods outside of my pantheon and am really hesitant to participate in ritual magic with people I don't know well. Would that be a problem or is it mostly a social type event?"
-
"Welcome Krei. As a Universalist tradition we follow and honor Native American, Neopagan and Goddess traditions as well. we look forward to meeting you on Tuesday the 13th. You will definitely meet like-minded people. Tom and Dan "
-
"Hi, I'm a Northern Tradition Heathen (who happens to be a lesbian) looking to meet like minded people in the area."
